About me?

A man with glasses and a beard wearing camouflage clothing, carrying a Sony Wildlife Camera over his shoulder, stands outdoors in a green, wooded area.

Firstly… I’m Shaun, and I actively avoid talking about myself!

I’m a wildlife photographer and videographer based in North Wales with a background in Military Engineering and Health & Safety, combining technical precision with creative storytelling to capture the natural world in a way that feels both authentic and compelling.

My journey began in the military, where I served as an engineer. That experience shaped the way I approach the world and my work today. It instilled a discipline, attention to detail, a fondness for the outdoors and the ability to operate effectively in challenging environments. Those same qualities now underpin my work in the field, where patience, preparation, and precision are essential.

Creativity sits on throne at the core of everything I produce. I don’t just document wildlife, I aim to tell stories through my work. Whether it’s capturing subtle behaviour, dramatic interactions, or quiet, easily overlooked moments, my focus is always on creating images and films that connect people to nature. Each moment is carefully considered, with an emphasis on light, composition, and atmosphere to produce work that resonates. It’s all in the details.

Working in the natural world demands more than technical ability. It requires respect, restraint, and a deep understanding of the environment. I spend long hours observing and learning, ensuring that every piece of content I create reflects wildlife in a genuine and responsible way. Ethics are close to my heart when it comes to wildlife photography and a rule I believe must be followed with fervour and tenacity.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple ambition. To leave the world in a better place than I found it for the next generation.

Wildlife is how I pursue that goal. Through my work, I aim to encourage appreciation, awareness, and a stronger connection to the natural world. Looking ahead, my long-term vision is to own and manage my own woodland/land. A place where I can create and support a thriving ecosystem, not just as a personal project, but as something lasting. Something that can be protected, nurtured, and passed on to the next generation.

I also sell prints so go check out the Shop when you’re ready.

This is more than a profession. It’s a purpose.
